Ylang ylang literally means "flower of flowers" and has a much-loved exotic and floral fragrance resembling jasmine.
It is known that Hawaiian women mix ylang ylang oil and coconut oil and apply this mixture to their hair before going into the sea to protect their hair from sea salt. In addition, one of the main components of "macassar oil", which was used in the 1800s and considered the pioneer of hair conditioner, is Ylang ylang oil.
Its scent is believed to be an aphrodisiac.
Ylang ylang essential oil stands out with its pleasant scent and is often preferred in body oils, hair care products, air fresheners or to scent the environment with a censer.
