Clove has anti-microbial properties. It is also known for its powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic effects. It is used by aromatherapists and pharmacists in oil mixtures for pain relief and edema relief.
It can be used for ambient scenting, especially in winter, when mixed with essential oils of orange and cinnamon, it creates a sweet winter scent.
WARNING: Clove oil is drying for the skin and mucous membranes, and can be irritating when applied directly to the skin, so it is not recommended to be used in sitz baths that are dripped into the tub. It should never be applied directly to the skin, it should be diluted with fixed oils. It cannot be taken in the mouth. It should not be swallowed.
